Mohamed Ayyaz Kasmani
Owner Director, Senior Optometrist, SchoolVision Practitioner Myopia Management Specialist & OrthokeratologistHello, I’m Mohamed – Optometrist, SchoolVision Practitioner, Orthokeratologist, and proud Director of Feltham Eyecare Centre. For over 20 years, I’ve been passionate about delivering the highest standards in eye care for my patients and my local community.
I suppose it’s in my blood – my uncle was an optometrist, and as a teenager I worked in my dad’s pharmacy. That’s where I discovered how much I loved helping people and making a real difference to their health and lives. After graduating from Bradford University in 1998 with a BSc (Hons) in Optometry, I trained in an independent practice, qualified in 1999, and registered with the GOC as a proud member of the College of Optometrists.
I did a short stint in a big multiple, but my heart was always set on independent practice. In 2001, an opportunity came up to take over a friend of my dad’s practice – and on 5th March that year, Feltham Eyecare Centre was born. Since then, I’ve been serving our community and have also been actively involved in local optometry, giving back through my long-standing role on the Local Optical Committee.
Alongside providing advanced eye examinations, I specialise in Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) – I’m fully trained and authorised by Scotlens to fit night lenses that gently reshape the eye while you sleep, giving clear daytime vision without glasses or daytime contact lenses. I’m also a myopia management specialist, having completed the Brien Holden Institute programme, including the advanced Complex Cases in Myopia Management course. Helping slow the progression of short-sightedness in children and young adults is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
I’m passionate about providing the highest standards in eye care for my patients, always striving to give each person the utmost care and attention. With eyewear, I believe it’s more than just a vision aid – it’s a distinct part of your personality. Eyewear must suit the results of the eye exam, so whether it’s high-quality spectacles, precision contact lenses, or customised night lenses, I make sure the correction is exactly right for each patient.
Outside the practice, I love travelling and spending time with my family. My wife, Fermin, and I have three wonderful children – two girls and a boy – who keep life busy and full of joy.
The best part of my job? Helping my patients see well, look great, and feel spectacular – whether that’s seeing clearly for the first time, saving sight with a timely referral, or helping someone fall in love with how they look in their new glasses. For me, every day is an opportunity to make a positive difference.
Fermin Kasmani
Dispensing OpticianHi, I’m Fermin – Dispensing Optician, wife of Mohamed and proud to be part of the Feltham Eyecare Centre team since 2001, (the same year I married Mohamed – yes he roped me in to work with him too, lol. My journey into optics was unexpected. I originally worked in an independent bank, but joining the family business opened my eyes (quite literally!) to a whole new world of vision care.
In the early days, I worked alongside our wonderful reception team, Betty and Brenda, learning everything from the different frame materials to how to adjust glasses so they fit perfectly – both across the nose and behind the ears. I quickly realised how much I enjoyed combining science, precision, and style to help patients feel comfortable and confident in their eyewear.
Wanting to deepen my skills, I studied for three years at City & Islington College, qualifying as a Dispensing Optician in 2010. Now with over 20 years of experience, I’ve trained and supported team members, worked with locum optometrists and pre-reg students, and helped thousands of patients find glasses that suit their look, lifestyle, and prescription perfectly.
These days I work part-time and mainly in the background sorting out our admin, so I can focus on our family, especially raising our two younger children. Family means the world to me – but that doesn’t mean I forget our patients. Over the years, I’ve built wonderful, long-lasting friendships with many of our loyal patients, and I truly value the connections we’ve made.
For me, the real joy of working at Feltham Eyecare Centre is the relationships. I’ve shared light-hearted chats about gardens, good books, new shows – and even been wowed by a patient’s personal collection of Fabergé eggs! I’ve seen children grow up, head off to prestigious universities, and start exciting careers, and I’ve celebrated those proud moments with their families. Some of my most cherished memories are of the kindness and support our patients showed during mine and Mohamed’s kidney transplant journey – something I’ll never forget.
I believe an optical practice should be more than just a place to “get your eyes tested.” It should be warm, personal, and somewhere you feel listened to – and that’s what I aim to help create every day I’m here.
Victoria D’Arcy
Dispensing OpticianHi, I’m Vicky, and I’m the Dispensing Optician here at Feltham Eyecare Centre. I first got into optics during my university days—it started as a weekend job, and I quickly fell in love with the whole process of helping people see clearly and feel great in their glasses.
At the practice, I begin each day making sure everything is tidy and in place before our patients arrive. Once Mr Kasmani has completed the eye examination, I step in to guide patients through their lens options and help them choose a frame that suits their style, personality, and vision needs. It’s more than just picking glasses—it’s about helping people feel confident and cared for.
What I find most rewarding is getting to know our patients and helping them find a pair of spectacles they’re genuinely excited to wear. I’m known among the team for being friendly and efficient, and I really do care about making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is the importance of patience and kindness—everyone has something going on in their life, and sometimes all it takes is a bit of understanding to turn someone’s day around. Outside of work, most of my time is spent with my kids, and they’ve definitely taught me that you can’t control everything. Life’s too short to take too seriously!
Whether you’re after something bold and unique, or simply want to feel looked after during your visit, I’m here to help you find a pair of glasses you’ll truly love.
Omar Chowdhury
Optical AssistantHello! I’m Omar, an Optical Assistant here at Feltham Eyecare Centre. I joined the team after coming in for an interview with Mr Kasmani—and I’ve never looked back. What drew me in then is the same thing that keeps me going now: the chance to help people and make their experience here feel thoughtful and personal.
My day usually starts with making sure everything is ready for our first few patients. I assist with pre-tests like scans and imaging, and then support patients throughout their time in the practice—answering questions, offering reassurance, and helping guide them through the process at a calm, steady pace.
The most rewarding moments are when a patient who’s struggled to find glasses that work for them finally leaves happy with what we’ve provided. I always aim to be someone who’s approachable, clear, and focused—whether I’m speaking with someone on the phone or helping them face-to-face.
What I’ve learned over time is to let go of the need for perfection. In a busy practice like ours, sometimes it’s better to focus on getting things done in a helpful and timely way rather than overthinking. I enjoy working under pressure, and I always try to bring a positive, composed energy to the room.
Outside of work, I’m a big fan of sports—especially football, basketball, UFC and boxing—and I enjoy winding down on the PS5 with friends. If I could swap jobs with anyone for a day, it’d probably be an athlete—someone who gets to push their physical limits and travel the world.
If you’re visiting us soon, I’ll be here to make sure your experience feels calm, well-paced, and always centred on your needs.
