Changes in hearing, discomfort, pressure or a blocked sensation can appear suddenly or develop over time. Many people worry something serious is wrong, when in most cases the cause is a simple build-up of earwax. At Feltham Ear Care Clinic, based within Feltham Eyecare Centre, we offer a calm, professional and modern service to check your ear health, explain your symptoms and provide treatment when needed. Our aim is to give you clarity, reassurance and comfortable care from start to finish.
Your appointment begins with a thorough Ear Health Check carried out by our Ear Care Practitioner Fermin Kasmani, who has undergone specialist ear care training with Tympa Health. Using high-quality digital imaging, we examine your ear canal and eardrum in detail. You will be shown clear images of your ears, making it easy to understand what we see and what may be causing your symptoms.
This assessment allows us to identify wax, inflammation, debris or other issues. If wax removal is required, depending on the amount of wax present, it is usually performed during the same visit or a follow-up appointment would be necessary. If no wax is present, you will receive guidance, reassurance and — where appropriate — a hearing screening to assess any changes in your hearing.
Microsuction is widely regarded as the gold-standard method of earwax removal. The procedure uses gentle suction to remove wax safely without water, making it a clean and controlled technique. Because the practitioner works under continuous visual control, microsuction is both precise and comfortable.
Before and after images of your ear canal are shown during the appointment so you can clearly see the results. Many people notice immediate relief from blocked ears and an improvement in hearing clarity. If no wax is found, you are only charged for the Ear Health Check.
If you feel your hearing has changed, we can perform a hearing screening as part of your appointment. This gives an indication of your current hearing levels and helps determine whether further assessment may be useful. Although we do not supply hearing aids, we will always guide you if additional investigation is recommended.
Our Ear Care Clinic provides a friendly, reassuring and professional service for adults aged 18 and over. Whether you’re experiencing blocked ears, earache, reduced hearing or simply want peace of mind, we offer a straightforward and effective solution delivered with genuine care.
Microsuction is a safe and gentle method of removing earwax using a small suction device. Unlike syringing, it does not use water, making it cleaner, more controlled and more comfortable for most patients.
Most people find microsuction comfortable. You may hear some noise from the suction and feel slight pressure, but it should not be painful. If you feel discomfort, the practitioner will pause or adjust the procedure.
Most appointments take around 20–30 minutes, depending on the amount of wax and whether a hearing screening is needed.
Yes. We can examine and treat both ears during the same session if required. The fee remains the same.
Microsuction is generally safe for most people, including those who have had previous issues. However, the practitioner will assess your ear canal first to ensure it is safe to proceed.
We will always examine your ears first. If the ear canal is inflamed, very tender or infected, we may advise a delay or recommend medical treatment before removal.
Using olive oil or ear-wax softening drops for a few days before your appointment can help, but it is not always essential. If you are unsure, feel free to ask us when booking.
Yes. You will be shown images of your ear canal before and after treatment so you can clearly see the results.
If there is no wax, we will still carry out a full Ear Health Check and provide guidance. You will only be charged the £25 Ear Health Check fee.
If your hearing is reduced due to wax build-up, removal can often lead to an immediate improvement. If hearing does not improve after wax removal, a hearing screening can help identify whether further assessment is needed.
No — our Ear Care Clinic is for adults aged 18+ only.
No, we do not supply hearing aids. If your screening suggests further assessment is necessary, we will advise you on the best next steps.
Using cotton buds to clean your ears might seem harmless, but they often push wax deeper, cause blockages, increase the risk of infection, and may even damage the eardrum. Your ears naturally clean themselves, and earwax protects the canal by trapping dust, moisturising the skin and preventing bacteria from getting in. Cotton buds disrupt this process and usually make the problem worse. Microsuction is a far safer option recommended by ENT specialists — it gently removes wax under magnified vision without pushing anything further in. If you’re experiencing blocked ears, discomfort or reduced hearing, professional microsuction is the safest way forward.
